The Cave of Wonders
The Cueva de las Maravillas National Park is named after the stalactite cave located here, whose walls are adorned with ancient paintings by the Taíno indigenous people. The park covers an area of 4.5 square kilometers, and the cave is 800 meters long and situated 25 meters underground. On the walls of the cave, there are 500 drawings created by the Taíno Indians, depicting human faces, various human and animal forms, as well as geometric and abstract shapes. The sight is made even more impressive by an underground lake and colorful lights. It is one of the most complete and richest cultural and natural treasures in terms of cave paintings in the Caribbean.
Above in the park, we can encounter iguanas and even "get lost" in a real labyrinth.
